About the test
What is the citizenship test like?
Applicants aged 18 to 54 answer 20 multiple-choice and true-or-false questions in 30 minutes, in English or French. You need 15 right answers (75%) to pass. The questions are about the rights and responsibilities of citizens and about Canada's history, geography, economy, government, laws and symbols.
Are these the real test questions?
No. The real questions are not public. MoxaCitizen's questions are written from the facts in Discover Canada so you learn the material, not memorize a list. Always study the official guide too.
Where can I get the official study guide?
Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship is free from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (canada.ca), to read online, download or listen to.
Why choose my province?
Mock exams then include a couple of questions about where you live (its capital, region, history and government), and the My province set lets you practise them all.
Does it work offline?
Yes. MoxaCitizen runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and can be installed like an app. Once opened it keeps working without the internet.
Study by chapter
These notes follow the chapters of Discover Canada. Read the guide too: the test can ask about anything in it.
